Zao Guided Resort Tour - Weekends Only

Zao Onsen ski resort is a huge area with complex terrain and 28 lifts to navigate.

If you are only here for a short time then a guided tour of the resort is the best way to find all of the best areas and best powder stashes in a single day.

This guided day tour of  Zao Onsen ski resort includes in-resort, off-piste skiing and sidecountry, with local Japanese guides who will show you around the resort as well as the best place for lunch.

The tour kicks off at 9:00am where you will meet your guide at Zao Onsen, lunch around midday and the tour concludes at 3:00pm.

Group Type

These tours are for private groups only of up to 6 participants i.e. you cannot join a group as a solo traveller. See the rates for a full day here>>

Private ski lessons are also offered. Ski lessons just for children are also possible so that parents can enjoy skiing freely while children are taking their lessons. Please enquire for more details.

Other Tours

• Yamagata Snow Monster Tour - Zao Onsen plus other Yamagata ski areas - trips are run from Wednesday to Saturday and from Saturday to Tuesday, although you can request a longer trip if you wish.
• Ski Yamagata for Beginners - includes lessons and could be combined with above tour if you have people of different abilities in your group
• Tohoku Outback Powder Expedition - starts in Zao & Yamagata and road trips further north in Tohoku
