LENT 2022

Lent, though it may not be as famililar to everyone as Easter or Christmas, is an important season in the Christian calendar. It is the forty days before Easter, not counting Sundays, and is a time of pentinence, reflection, and preparation. We repent of our sins and remove obstacles from our lives that keep us from a full relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  Some people choose to fast during this time or “give up” something for Lent. Much time is spent in prayer as we focus our lives on giving to others and serving those in need. The first day of Lent is Ash Wednesday and the last day of Lent is the Saturday before Easter Sunday. Let us take this time to slow down and consider our actions in light of the example set by our Lord. Let’s admit our sin to ourselves and lay it down, rising up on Easter to be different people. People who are shaped by our faith and ready to serve. ….Melissa Watson
