With Covid craziness and quarantines and all the general confusion we have been experiencing since March 2020, maybe you are feeling a little disconnected from your church family. It is difficult to keep up with all the happenings and all of our friends these days when our schedules have been so disrupted. Here are some ways that you can “be in the loop” with your church family.
Attend church when you can. I know there are times that it truly isn’t safe for you to be out in public because of the risk of catching Covid. But when it is, come to church. The spiritual connection, the message, the music, reaches us in powerful ways that just can not be replicated in any other way. When it isn’t possible for you to be in church, catch the Desktop Worship videos that we post weekly. You can find them here on the blog and on our Facebook page and on Rev. Osgood’s Facebook page. It is the next best thing to being here in person.
Next, utilize the church’s communication sources such as our monthly newsletter, The Beacon, that goes out to 200+ people. It is full of lots of useful and interesting information. If you are not receiving a copy, let us know in the office, and we will add you to the mailing list. Also, listen to the church’s All Calls. Yes, I know they can be annoying, but if you don’t want to miss out on what is going on, it helps to listen to them. And of course this blog is also a great way for you to get information and stay connected. I update twice weekly.
Finally, reach out to others. You can believe if you are feeling lonely or disconnected, so are others. Call someone, send them a card, go to lunch, get back involved. This pandemic has been challenging, but we are God’s children, and we are there for each other.
