Sunday, August 29 was the first time we have been able to enjoy a meal together in our fellowship hall since Homecoming 2019. We had the usual goodies like chicken salad, lasagna, BBQ, and chicken casserole (yum yum), and we had a few new dishes too, such as a spicy gazpacho, Greek pasta salad and a delightful cinnamon apple and walnut salad. It was very hard to decide which dish to choose! We had a good crowd to turn out, but if you just couldn’t make it this time, Homecoming is right around the corner!
It was fun to sing some of our old favorite hymns in church Sunday. I always sing the loudest on the ones I know. If you didn’t hear your favorite hymn, don’t worry; we will be incorporating all of the submitted songs and hymns into worship throughout this fall.
Like that comfortable old pair of blue jeans or that one thing you must always order when you go to that particular restaurant, we all have favorites. The same is true with church music. Well if you are longing to hear some old favorites, Sunday, August 29 is your opportunity! Bethany will be featuring all oldies and goodies! Be sure to come and sing along. Stay for lunch, too, because we are having a covered dish dinner immediately following worship.
It is fall and time to begin chancel choir and bell choir practice. Bells will meet at 6:00pm on Wednesday, August 18 for an hour practice, and the chancel choir will meet at 7:00pm and practice until 7:30. We will be practicing every Wednesday, so please come out and join us!
