In 2012 Bethany gave about 12% of its income to missions, totaling just over $18,000. Contributions were made through special offerings totaling $4,986.01; Pamlico County Disaster Reconstruction, $3,049.00; Minister’s Discretionary Fund, $237.00; Local Outreach, $2,252.50; the Regional Capital Campaign, $2,277.00; and Scholarship grants, $1,500.00, all of which totaled $14,301.51.

In addition, the Christian Women’s Fellowship (CWF) contributed $2,761.51 to missions, including general church for missions, the Christian Church in North Carolina, blessing boxes, Camp Caroline, Camp Agape, school teachers, camper tuition, Hope Clinic, Hospice, Grantsbrook Nursing Home, the Gardens of Pamlico, Habitat for Humanity and Fishes and Loaves.

Circle 5 of the Bethany CWF gave $400.00 to a family at Christmastime to pay the electric bill, and the Christian Men’s Fellowship (CMF) gave $582.00 to missions including a needy family, camper tuition, CampCaroline for pavers, and the Bethany Youth.

Bethany’s total missions giving is among the top giving totals—and represents a high amount of giving per capita—of all the Christian churches in North Carolina. Our congregation can be proud of its outreach and missions giving!
