CWF Group 5 holds Tea Party for Group 4

The ladies of CWF Group 5 honored those of Group 4 with a tea party Saturday, May 5. The Group 4 ladies relished the event and expressed how grateful they were to Group 5. Here are some of the photos.

Directory Photo Shoot is Underway

The first members of the Bethany family had their photos taken for the upcoming church directory May 6. About 15 photos were taken in less than 30 minutes, so it only takes a couple of minutes.

Please don’t forget to sign up on the sheet in the narthex to get your picture taken so we can have a complete directory. We will be taking pictures from 12 pm to 1 pm May 13, May 20 and May 27.

New Church Photo Directory to be Published

Bethany will publish a church photo directory this summer that will be distributed to all the members of the church family. Photos will be taken at the church each Sunday in May between noon and 1 pm, beginning May 6. Before taking the photos, Emily Harper will collect updated information for the directory.

The photos (and entries in the directory) will be individual (not family groups) in order to achieve consistency in size and quality, but all family members may be photographed and listed in the directory. There will be a sign-up sheet in the narthex beginning April 22. Please be sure to sign yourself and your family members up for one of the Sundays in May!

Spam Emails being sent in Disguise

Be careful opening emails. There are email messages being sent that appear to be from AT&T and Verizon (and perhaps other companies) that if clicked on take the recipient to another, perhaps malicious, website.

To check authenticity, let your cursor hover over a link to see if it directs to the company it purports to be from, or to another website that you don’t recognize. CAUTION: If your cursor is set to access the link after hovering for a second or two, don’t do it.

Merritt Watson Turns 70!

Bethany held a luncheon last Sunday after worship in honor of Merritt Watson on his 70th birthday anniversary. After Merritt’s recent altercations with a steel girder and other head-hunting objects, the perfect gift was obvious: a hardhat. But it was such an obvious present, that he received two!

Annual Communications Barbecued Chicken Lunch is Friday, March 30

Bethany’s communications committee will hold its annual barbecued chicken lunch Friday, March 30, 11 am to 1 pm. Sale will be by ticket , and there may be a very limited number of plates available at the door. Tickets are $7.00 and may be purchased at the church office (252-249-0266) in Bethany Hall on Thursdays, 9 am to 4 pm, or by contacting Jennie Adams, jenniekadams@gmail.com; Merritt Watson, minister@bethanyarapahoe.org; or by comment to this post (click on the response link above).

Businesses ordering multiple plates may schedule deliveries for 11:30 am, 12 noon, 12:15 pm, 12:30 pm, 12:45 pm or 1 pm.

Each plate will consist of one of Merritt Watson’s famous barbecued chicken halves, coleslaw, Kelly and Buck Jones’ baked beans, corn sticks and a homemade dessert.

Proceeds are used for communications committee projects and equipment.
