JULIA WARD PETERSON
We are sad to report the death September 15 of Julia Peterson, 88, Arapahoe. Julia was an elder and long-time active member of Bethany. She worked for years at Belangia’s Grocery, and was a member of the Arapahoe Area Retirement Club and the Pamlico Heritage Center. She was a member of the chancel choir at Bethany and was involved in a great many aspects of the life of the church. We will miss seeing her and hearing her voice.
Julia is survived by her daughters, Cyndy Sprinkle of Virginia and Vanessa King of Wilmington; her sisters, Sylvia Norman and Becky Tingin; brother, Jeff Boyd; son-in-law, Don Thomson; grandchildren, Angela Mosley (James), Trevor Sprinkle (Sarah), Amanda Slaughter (Matthew), Allen King, Jim Thomson (Dawn), Bruce Thomson, and Rob Thomson; great-grandchildren, Kayla, Lane, Emma, Cole, Marco, Luca, Nico, Lorenzo, J.R., Peter and Trace; and special friends, Pat and Gene Stilley.
Her memorial service will be held at Bethany on Saturday, September 23, at 2 PM. A reception in the fellowship hall will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church or a charity of one’s choice.
GEORGE ELBERT VENDRICK
Sadly, we learned of the death July 8 of George Elbert Vendrick, 64, of Oriental. He was a long-time member of Bethany. He retired from Cherry Point MCAS after 31 years of service. George was preceded in death by his father, Elbert Vendrick and survived by his mother, Rachel Vendrick; sister, Rosie Ward and husband, Johnny; nephews R. J. Ward (Kris), Brandon Ward (Saraye) and Dewey Ward (Kimmy) and their families.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggested memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Pamlico, PO Box 6, Bayboro, NC 28515.
