Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old.
Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? –Isaiah 43:18-19.
The sun rising over the Neuse River, dispelling clouds, reminds us that our savior, Jesus Christ, died to take away our sins and give us a fresh start; that He can dispel the clouds in our lives if we accept Him; that He loves us, and that in Him, we have a new beginning.
We pray for you what Robert Burns’ prayer asks:
O Thou who kindly dost provide
For every creature’s want!
We bless Thee, God of Nature wide,
For all thy goodness lent.
And, if it please Thee, heavenly Guide,
May never worse be sent;
But, whether granted or denied,
Lord bless us with content.
Happy New Year, and blessings to all!
