CWF HOLDS ANOTHER GREAT HARVEST DINNER!

The Christian Women’s Fellowship’s (CWF) annual Harvest Dinner was scheduled to begin at 5 P.M. in the fellowship hall last Saturday, but from around 4:30 there were people standing in line to buy tickets and waiting for the women to begin serving, and by 5:15 the tables in the fellowship hall were full.

Pat Stilley, who headed the dinner, said that the women cooked 16 20-lb. turkeys, 30 turkey legs, 15 gal. of green beans, 10 gal. of gravy, 12 pans of dressing, 2 bushels of sweet potatoes, used 2½ gal. of cranberries, and 300 rolls.

In addition, 60 people helped cook, serve, set up, clean up, sent things in for cooking and much more. The Harvest Dinner committee–Pat Stilley, Renée Midyette and Margaret Harrell–spent countless hours ahead of time calling people, double checking, shopping for

groceries and supplies, among other things.

On the day of the dinner, turkey slicers began at 9 A.M., and the last of those working didn’t leave until 8 P.M.

Not all the bills are tallied, so it’s not known how much was made. But, as Pat Stilley put it, “It was a lot of work but also great fellowship and a good memory maker and of course

great food.” It’s not likely that anyone who helped would disagree with the first part of Pat’s statement, and all those who ate the dinners certainly attested to the fact that it was great food!
