The vision team has completed its summarization of the prayer triad responses to the questions posed in the 10 meetings for each of the triads. All members of the congregation are welcome to comment on any of the responses so the vision team can consider all answers and points of view.

A ground-breaking service was held at Camp Caroline July 6 for the Jack and Gladys Lee Multi-purpose Recreation Building. The service was conducted by John Richardson, general minister of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in North Carolina. Jack and Gladys were on hand to help break ground. The weather was warm but pleasant, and refreshments were served in Cowell Hall following the service.

The building is named for Jack and Gladys Lee, members of Bethany, and will be built in three phases, eventually to comprise a gymnasium and classroom complex. First-phase constuction is to begin this fall. A floorplan of the building is shown below.
We learned today of the death July 26 of Alison Michele Massey Andrews, 36, of New Bern. We offer our prayers and condolences to her family. A memorial service will be held at 5:00 P.M., August 3, at Reelsboro Pentecostal Holiness Church, the Revs. Steve Willis and Lyndon Purifoy officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.

We learned of the death today of Betty Marie Bennett Roach, 81, of Reelsboro. We offer our prayers and condolences. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. July 31 at Reelsboro Christian Church, the Revs. Dr. Bob Cayton and Riley Green officiating. The family will receive friends and family one hour prior to the funeral in the fellowship hall.

Late afternoon sunlight, a relatively cool temperature and a good breeze provided a comfortable weather setting as people sat under the pavilion and enjoyed great music by Sara and Simon Spalding, followed by juicy watermelon.

We learned today of the death yesterday of Peggy H. Tompkins, 54, of Grantsboro. Our prayers and condolences go to her family. Arrangements are incomplete. Graveside services will be held at 11 A.M. July 18 in Sandhill Cemetery, the Rev. Scott Fitzgerald officiating.
