If you want a fun evening out, Simon Spalding (vocals, bass, guitar, fiddle) and the other original RetroRockets, Chris Kling (vocals, guitar, keyboard, bass) and Frank Howell (drums, vocals), will be playing some great old songs at the Moose Lodge on NC 55 in Grantsboro tonight, Saturday, June 26, from 8 pm to midnight. The event is open to the public, and admission of $5.00 will be charged.
The Activity Committee invites you to some fun events coming up this summer.
- First, if you’re interested in a week-end group trip in early fall, come to a planning meeting Monday, July 12, at 7 p.m. in the fellowship hall. Will it be camping? Group house? Beach? Mountains? We’ll decide what kind of event, the date, and the place.
- Then, join us at the pavilion for “Music and Melons” Saturday, July 17, at 7 p.m. Listen to some good music and get some watermelon juice on your face.
- Even more fun ahead: An Ice Cream Social at the pavilion Sunday, August 8, at 7 p.m.! We will need people to sign up to make ice cream or desserts. A sign up sheet will be on the door of Class #6.
- And don’t forget the 5th Sunday Covered Dish Dinner in the fellowship hall after worship Sunday, August 29.
Put these events on your calendars and come have some summer fun with us!

Our sympathy and prayers go out to his family, with the knowledge that he is at peace with Jesus.

All women are invited to a special women’s chorus practice Tuesday, June 15, at 7 p.m., to prepare for a serenade for fathers on Father’s Day, June 20. The practice is a one-time event, so you will not commit yourself to be a choir member, but you’re welcome to join, of course.
